As in any life process, a supportive and trusting environment is necessary to encourage change. I believe in establishing a trusting therapeutic relationship to assist in cultivating and working toward goals of emotional health and wellness.
As a counselor and dance/movement therapist of 10 years, my philosophy is holistic in nature as I focus on developing the mind-body connection to increase self-awareness and foster self-confidence. I utilize both verbal counseling skills and expressive arts modalities to provide alternate methods for self-expression and development of coping skills.
Throughout the past decade, I have worked with children and adolescents and their families in both residential treatment facilities and a community mental health agency. I specialize in providing individual, group, and family counseling to address anxiety, depression/mood issues, social skills, and self-esteem/body issues. I am also invested in working with parents to develop the tools to offer support for their children.
