My name is Courtney Van Acker, and I wholeheartedly believe in the healing and restoration that can happen within the therapeutic process. True and lasting change can only happen when people feel free to be themselves without judgment and feel fully accepted and loved within their relationships.
I hope to provide a welcoming, warm, and compassionate space for my clients to process the struggles and concerns that caused them to seek out counseling. I realize that beginning the counseling process can be scary and challenging, so I strive to create an environment that makes my clients feel safe, secure, and comfortable as they begin to navigate their own personal journey towards growth and well-being.
I graduated from Wheaton College’s clinical mental health counseling program in August of 2021 and I have clinical experience working with a wide variety of populations, all the way from adolescents to adults. I have worked with clients experiencing a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, self-harm, eating disorders/body image concerns, stress management, and identity exploration. I also specialize in offering faith-based counseling, as I believe that one’s spirituality is an intricate part of their essence and identity and should not be ignored within the work of counseling. I approach counseling utilizing an eclectic and holistic framework, seeking to attend to the wholeness of a client’s being, including physical and spiritual health as well as mental and emotional wellness.
I feel that every person has the inner strength and courage to be able to make radical changes in their lives and I would be honored to walk alongside you through any storm that you may encounter along the way to achieving your goals and living in a way that honors the unique and beautiful individual who you were created to be.
